Complete Walkthrough for Destiny 2 Override: Europa

The Season of the Splicer has arrived in Destiny 2, bringing with it a new co-op activity called Override: Europa. This six-man event takes place on Europa, the snow-covered moon of Jupiter introduced in Destiny 2: Beyond Light. To participate in Override, players must own Season of the Splicer or have the Deluxe Edition of Destiny 2: Beyond Light.

To unlock the Override seasonal event, players should go to Europa and start a quest called “The Lost Splicer.” This quest initiates the seasonal storyline and rewards players with the Splicer Gauntlet, an important item in Season of the Splicer. Players can collect Ether by completing various in-game activities such as Strikes, Crucible matches, and Gambit matches. Ether is used to unlock Key Codes in the artifact, which allow players to access bonus chests at the end of each Override run. Once they have completed these steps, players are ready to begin the new seasonal activity.

Starting the Destiny 2 Override: Europa activity involves several steps. First, players should go to the H.E.L.M. and select Override: Europa from the map. The H.E.L.M. can now be accessed directly from orbit, eliminating the need to visit the Tower. Players will then spawn in front of a Vex terminal on Europa. They should hack into the terminal to initiate the splicing sequence and engage in combat with enemy forces. Players must collect pink-colored Data Motes dropped by defeated enemies and bank them into the terminal. They can carry up to 10 motes at a time and should avoid dying before depositing them.

During the encounter, if a Vex portal opens, players can enter it to face a group of enemies and a Vex Champion called the Scytale. Defeating the Scytale will reward players with a Data Spike, a white cube containing more data than a single mote. To fully overload the Vex terminal, players must deposit three Data Spikes. Progress is halted periodically when the Vex lock the terminal, spawning Vex Champion blockers that players must defeat. Floating white blocks will appear around the terminal, and players must shoot down the red ones as soon as they appear. After destroying two more blocks, a platform will spawn, allowing players to hack the terminal again and disable the countermeasures. This sequence should be repeated until the terminal is overloaded with data.

Once the final countermeasure phase is cleared, players will drop into a vortex, entering the Vex simulation. They must navigate platforming challenges by jumping across disappearing platforms and avoiding laser traps. This section is similar to the platforming stages of the Pyramidion strike. After successfully crossing the obstacle course, players will face the final boss, Tacitas the Subjugated Mind, a giant Vex Harpy. The boss must be defeated in three damage phases. After each phase, Tacitas becomes invulnerable, and a Vex Scytale and large Vex cubes spawn. Players must destroy the Scytale to acquire the key for the next damage phase and destroy the cubes to remove the boss’s shield. This process is repeated until Tacitas is defeated.

Upon completing Destiny 2 Override: Europa, players will find two chests in the boss room. One is the main completion chest, while the other is a Conflux Chest that can be opened if the player has a Key Code for the Splicer Gauntlet. Players can earn Powerful Gear by completing three Override missions each week. They can also use Key Codes to open three Conflux Chests each week for a chance at a Pinnacle Reward.

In addition to Override: Europa, two more Override activities will be introduced in the coming weeks. Override: Moon begins on May 18th, and Override: Tangled Shore starts on May 25th. These events are part of the Season of the Splicer, the 14th season of Destiny 2. Season Pass owners will have access to Override, as well as a new Exotic weapon and other significant updates to the game.
