Scarlet Nexus, an action RPG developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, is now available on PC and consoles. It introduces a unique blend of anime aesthetic and a concept known as “brain punk”. The game boasts a distinctive visual style and performs well across various platforms, although there are a few technical issues. If you encounter any problems with the Scarlet Nexus controller on PC, here’s a guide to help you resolve them. Some users have also reported an error message stating “failed to load system data”, and we have provided a guide to address that as well. At present, the game lacks proper support for ultrawide or multi-monitor setups. It is uncertain whether these features will be added in future patches, but we are actively seeking alternative methods to enable them manually.
To address the keyboard and mouse limitations and complement the game’s style, it is recommended to play Scarlet Nexus with a controller. The game has native support for various controllers, which is a positive aspect. However, some users have encountered issues, and we will address a few of them below.
Dualshock 4 Prompts: If you are using a Dualshock 4 controller and the button prompts are not displayed correctly, you can fix this by following these steps:
1. Open Steam and navigate to your library.
2. Right-click on Scarlet Nexus and select “Properties”.
3. In the Properties menu, go to the “CONTROLLER” tab on the left.
4. Under “Override Scarlet Nexus”, select “Disable Steam Input”.
5. Keep in mind that this solution only works when the controller is connected via a wired connection. If you prefer to play wirelessly, you can try the alternative method below or use Xbox prompts instead.
Bugged Dualsense Controller: If your Dualsense controller is not functioning at all or the buttons are not displayed correctly, follow these steps to fix the issue:
1. Follow the same steps as mentioned above, but this time, when you reach the Controller tab, click on “Controller General Settings”.
2. This will open Steam’s big picture mode. Check the box for “PlayStation Configuration Support”.
3. Try running the game again and see if the issue has been resolved. Please note that this may result in displaying Xbox button prompts. Currently, the Dualsense controller seems to have more bugs compared to other controllers, and we hope that future patches will address these issues.
